The numbers on the yeast packet DO NOT mean the date of expiration. Instead, it is the day that the yeast was packaged. For example, MrBeer 16512 means that it was packaged on the 165th day of 2012, or June 13, 2012. Please keep in mind that our malts and yeast have a shelf life of 2 years!
